The Wanderers Club has the ideal facilities and experience to handle small, large or budget weddings. The club was established in 1888, and is one of Joburg’s oldest clubs, with a rich and vibrant history.
We have a selection of wedding venues ranging from small and intimate such as our Centre Court restaurant to our large ballroom, which accommodates from 100 to 400 people. We host over 25 000 delegates annually at corporate events, conferences, and weddings.
Expert wedding coordinators
Expert wedding coordinators will ensure that your wedding goes according to plan as well as meeting and exceeding your expectations. We have an array of wedding options and menus available that will satisfy your personal style. Your overnight accommodation needs are provided by the luxurious Protea Hotel on the same grounds. From humble beginnings is where our story started. Private catering for friends and family spiralled into an event and catering business in the blink of an eye. Then in 2002, South Africa hosted the Earth Summit and SilvaSale was tasked with catering and logistics for this all-important event.
It was no easy task to get an entire restaurant up and running at the Wanderers within a mere two weeks. But hard work and determination paid off, and years on we are still running and operating the Wanderers Club’s catering and event management. In 2012 a young and dynamic team joined SilvaSale to bring new creative energy to the already booming business.
Accepting four stars from the grading council in 2015 was a highlight, but also confirmed our motto – Excellence is who we are… It starts from the core. We are proud of our service and standard, and every day our family values, passion and dedication is shown by the staff who strive towards excellence.
Packages can cater to any group, small or large, or you can speak to our professional consultants to tailor your conference to your requirement. Our top facilities include all standard AV equipment, video, inspiring menus, brain food and creative packages.
At Wanderers, we have several small venues to choose from to best suit your perfect day which are customised to your requirements in terms of the menu and layout. We pride ourselves in maintaining a personalised forward-thinking approach and are constantly striving for perfection when entertaining our valued guests. Our top priority is to ensure our wedding guests are taken care of in the way they have become accustomed to.

The Wanderers Club is conveniently located close to Sandton and Rosebank. It’s perfectly situated on the Gautrain bus route and a 2km drive from the Rosebank Gautrain station making it convenient for friends and family to celebrate your special day with you.
Situated a mere 100m from the venue, it is perfect for our wedding couple and ideally suited for out of town guests. The Protea Wanderers offers all the Amenities you would expect from a world class4-star hotel including an in-house gym and outdoor pool with a deck. The Protea has well-furnished rooms with a flat-screen satellite TV. The private bathrooms include a separate bathtub and shower.
