Wanderers Cricket Club Annual General Meeting
The Cricket Club held its Annual General Meeting on the 29th August.
At the meeting, new Chairman Frank Auger took the opportunity to thank his predecessor, Dale Hermanson, for his 9 years as Chairman.
The meeting also confirmed the club committee – Frank Auger (Chairman), Mike Sacher (Vice-Chairman), Graham McMillan (Secretary), Dale Hermanson, Zaid Patel, George Barry, Thabo Kalabatane.
In closing, the Chairman wished all players the best of luck for the upcoming season and reminded them that they are responsible for upholding the history, heritage, and values of the Wanderers Cricket Club. And given the issues that have affected Gauteng cricket during the past few years, the club will implement a “zero tolerance” policy for any unethical behaviour.
Wanderers Women’s Cricket Club
As a result of the number of players that have expressed an interest in joining the club, the Wanderers Women’s Cricket Club has been established.
The team will play in the Gauteng Cricket Board’s Women’s Premier League with the first game taking place on Saturday 7th October.
Practices will commence on Wednesday 6th September at the Bottom Cricket Oval from 16.30.

12 year old Wanderers Cricket Club player receives support from the sponsors of AB De Villers and Virat Kohli.
Congratulations to Wanderers Cricket Club member Zaid Ismail for receiving a MRF equipment sponsorship.
12-year-old Zaid is already playing U15 representative cricket and all at Wanderers have high hopes for his future in the game.
Wanderers Bash 2017
The 4th edition of the Wanderers Bash will take place from the 7th to 10th September.
This year 8 teams will be taking part, including 2 from the Wanderers.
The tournament will commence will floodlit evening games on the Top Cricket Oval on the 7th and 8th September.
The final will take place at 15.00 on Sunday 10th September on the Bottom Cricket Oval.
2017/18 Cricket Season
The new cricket season is fast approaching, with league games commencing 30th September.
Practices have already started on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 16.30 at the Bottom Cricket Oval.
The Wanderers Cricket Club welcomes players of all ages and abilities.

From 6 to 14 years old with qualified coaches.
Every Saturday from 08.15 to 11.00.
