We are almost at the end of the League season with one match to go.

The Ladies will finish second in Division 2, but, have all enjoyed the season.

The mixed side will land up mid-table and Janis Fluxman and her team have persevered against far stronger opposition who take the Mixed league extremely seriously.

Martin Lewis and Duanne Abrahams made the Wanderers proud, both made the District A side while Duanne reached the last 4 in the JBA singles. Martin made the quarters. Quite an achievement by both.

Eric Rosen, after having a serious operation, recovered enough to reach the Last 8 in the Men’s Senior JBA singles!

Well done to all.

Warwick Sagar and his selectors will breathe a sigh of relief as the long, protracted season is finally almost over.

The CLUB side is in 6 th place in Division One, however, our strength shows in the Super 8’s below the main league.

Wanderers top Division’s 1 with the A-side, Top Division 2 with the B side, we could have 2 x Wanderers teams in 1 st Division of Super 8’s next year!

It gets even better, the C side will most definitely win Division 3 and be promoted to Division 2.

So, Wanderers will either have the good fortune to have 2 teams in Division 1 or 2 next year.

Well done to all players.

The D side will, unfortunately, go down a league while the E team will land up second in Division 5.

Two teams will be in the same league next season.

Unfortunately through illness, etc, we had 21 players unavailable one weekend alone. With many breaks, the season has been dragging.

We can only thank Brian Myers, Warwick Sagar, Mike Bolel for nursing Wanderers over the finish line.

Mike Hurwitz has just had another operation, this time with an “all clear.”

Michael, we miss your sense of humour and all look forward to seeing you at the club shortly.

To all our Jewish members” Chag Semeach ” and to all our members, be careful where you hide the Easter eggs, you are getting older!

To all, have a great Easter weekend.

Message from Stuart Weaving

Dear Bowlers at Wanderers Bowls Club,

We are now safely home in Jersey.  It was such a pleasure visiting your club to help commemorate the Golden Anniversary of the Friendship Associations.  We most sincerely appreciated the reception we received and the generosity afforded us on our visit.

I would like you to forward this email to all of your members to show them how much we enjoyed our visit to your club.

Whilst speaking with a number of your members, they were interested in the work we are doing in the UK for families with relatives in South Africa.  Please ask your members to give me the email addresses of their UK family, or alternatively ask your UK family to contact [email protected],  that I might offer them one year’s free membership of the Friends of the Springbok Association which will entitle them to access the many benefits on offer.  These include our unique free Serious Accident Emergency Travel benefit, special low fares, access to our monthly “Free Flight” draws and many others.

Our object of cementing relationships continues and we look forward to welcoming your UK family as members of the Friends of the Springbok Association.

I look forward to bowling at your club once again at some time in the future.

Kind regards.

Stuart Weaving
