The Wanderers Club Launches Women’s Cricket Club this Women’s Day 9th August

Inspiring Those Who Aspire To Be

One of Johannesburg’s oldest sporting clubs, The Wanderers Cricket Club, will be playing an active role in showcasing women’s cricket at club level. The aim is to attract a new generation of women and girls to the sport and promote youth participation in cricket in the province.

To celebrate Women’s Day, Wanderers Club will be giving free club membership to all ladies who sign up for the new cricket club up until 23:59 on the 9th August through the online portal.

In line with this, Wanderers Cricket Club is establishing a women’s cricket team and is looking for players, aged 15 and above, who are either experienced cricketers or novices.

“Wanderers Cricket Club will be looking to enter a team in Gauteng Cricket Board’s Women’s league. Trials will take place during September 2017 and weekly practices will be held at the Wanderers Club. We are inviting all women cricketers to join us,” said Frank Auger, Chairman of Wanderers Cricket Club.
