The Wanderers Snooker Club

Inspiring Those Who Aspire To Be

More than a club.
More than just snooker.

We offer a world class Snooker facility, which is rated as one of the best on the Gauteng Region. Our Snooker section has 10 full size snooker tables plus an International standard Wiroka Steel Block Table. Our members encourage young players to join in this sport and offer complimentary tuition when new young players join the club.

Snooker Information

Snooker is played with twenty-two balls, comprising a cue ball , fifteen red balls, and six other balls – a yellow, green, brown, blue, pink, and black – collectively called the colours. The name ‘snooker’ is derived from a nickname given to the cadet soldiers involved in first watching, playing, and developing the game in India in the 19th century. Since the 19th century, the game has modernised and become fast-paced with break-building featuring as the primary tactic in today’s game. The Wanderers Snooker Club has hosted numerous All-Africa Snooker Championships and National Tournaments. Our current Wanderers Snooker Club Chairperson, Mike Hines, is a former professional snooker player and SA Snooker Champion.
