Join us every Thursday evening @17:45 and challenge yourself by participating in either our 5km or 8km time trial starting from the bottom oval.

The first Thursday of every month is our social night where you can join us for a bite to eat and a drink or two followed by a raffle where we have prizes sponsored by the Sweatshop and Lorna Jane.

There will be time trial on the 1st December however most of us will be doing the WAC Pub Run.


Track sessions have started 17:45 every Tuesday top oval, all levels of runners welcome.

Last session for 2016 will be on the 06/12 2016 where we will be going to RAC to race their 8km Time Trial.


Core, core and more core. Strengthening exercises utilising your own body work coupled with some track work and the occasional out run.

These sessions start @17:45 from the top on Tuesdays and cater for all levels, what you put in is what you get out.

15 km these are the runs for you. The pace is easy and the company great, this is how Sunday runs are meant to be. These runs depart from the top parking lot @07:00.

Should you wish to wear a base layer please ensure that this is either black or white. Not only are you representing your club but every year club colours are updated with CGA and you may be disqualified for competing in wrong club colours.

There has been a fair number of questions asked about how we support trail running and how to get involved in trail running. Good questions because our mission is to support all forms of running and walking.

Trail running is fast growing in popularity with road runners, excellent cross-training for road and heaps of fun. WAC’s thinking at this stage is to provide a platform for those wanting to get involved in trail running. This would include some organised trail runs in and around JHB (they do exist) and general information about and links to upcoming trail events.

We are keen to hear the views of the greater group, what you would like to see and whether you are keen to get involved.

2017 Online CGA registration will open on the 02-01-2017 and will close on the 16-01-2017. For reconciliation purposes we will only be doing online registration. Number collections will only take place on the Thursday evening 19-01-2017 after TT at Spinners Bar and Saturday morning 21-01-2017 between 09:00 and 12:00 at Chariots Bar. In the event that you do not have access to a computer one will be available for use on both of these collection days.

Please note that we are in the process of finalising the 2017 CGA numbers, if you are planning on leaving the Wanderers Athletics Club at the end of 2016 please advise as soon as possible so that we can arrange your transfer letter and that your 2016 CGA number can be transferred to your new club. If you do know of anyone that is planning on joining the Wanderers Athletics Club please request that their current club provide a transfer letter and provide us with their 2016 CGA number so that we can have the CGA number transferred. If this is not done it just means that they will be issued with new CGA number.


The athletics committee has been notified of a number of members that will be stepping down from the committee over the next few months.
