RESIGNATION OF CHIEF EXECUTIVE – DARREN DIGNAM

We regret to inform our members that Darren Dignam, who has been Club Manager and Chief Executive since 2001, has resigned and left our employ at the end of September 2018.darren dignam

Darren brought financial stability to the Club and during his tenure, the Club has been well maintained and obtained 4-star rating by the Tourist Board. Darren decided to return to the U.K. for family reasons and he will be missed by staff and members alike. Darren was a hands-on manager who always placed the interests of the Club and its members above all else. Nothing was too small or too great for Darren who always tried to accommodate everyone with a smile.

In honouring Darren for his many years of loyalty, the Club has bestowed on him an Honours Tie for exceptional service and granted him Honorary membership. Darren served under five chairmen during the last 17 years and they all had complimentary things to say about him in his farewell.  We wish Darren a long and outstanding career in his new country and only the best in his personal life.

APPOINTMENT OF NEW CHIEF EXECUTIVE – MARIA VAN DEN BOSCH

Maria van den Bosch has been the Financial Manager of the Club since 2004 and has assisted Darren with managing the Club affairs and achieving financial stability.  Maria is an all-rounder with vast experience in business and she was the natural choice when considering a successor for Darren.  Although the Club is run as a business, it is essentially a members club and Maria is familiar with the Club’s uniqueness in this regard. Maria is a strong leader who is not scared of hard work and she has gained the respect of members, the staff and service providers as she is fair and leads by example.

The Committee decided to promote Maria and appoint her as the new Chief Executive and trust that she will carry her new role with the commitment and efficiency she has displayed in the past. She has the unequivocal support of the Committee and we wish her the very best in her new role.
