About Wanderers Rugby
Established in 1888, the Wanderers Club began in Illovo, Johannesburg and its luck rose and fell with those of the Golden City. The story of the sportsmen who created and preserved it through many misfortunes is a story of wars and revolutions, strikes and fires, bullets and explosions. The individuals who found their recreation on its fields and broke sporting records were often played in a wider drama, much of which actually took place on the famous grounds. Its story is a human drama of great personalities who were as many pioneers of South Africa as enthusiastic sportsmen. Wanderers Rugby Club strives to be one of the top rugby clubs in the GLRU and provides top class coaching as well as top class facilities to its members.
Wanderers Club Junior Rugby – Future Rugby Stars! Help us grow a diverse and sustainable team for our future rugby stars.
In 2018, the junior rugby section (Young Chiefs) was reestablished under the initiative of Robert Barnard (our passionate Director of Coaching) & Petra Anderson (a long-standing Wanderers Club member).
We would appreciate your help to fund transport, coaching, paramedics, kit, equipment and training, so that we can continue to grow & sustain a diverse team of enthusiastic juniors.
