ASTRO UPDATE
The astro is finally complete and we look forward to welcoming you back to Wanderers! The new LED lighting system has not yet been installed but is expected to be ready by the 2nd week in May. In the interim, all training sessions will resume as normal with evening practices making use of the upper field lighting. This lighting however will be insufficient for evening league matches.
SENIOR HOCKEY
Wanderers Hockey comprises of at least 228 senior members, with 5 Ladies teams and 7 Men’s teams. The club is very well represented at senior levels offering senior players of varying ability the chance to compete in the Southern Gauteng League. It also provides aspirant members the opportunity to develop, improve and compete for a place in a higher team and league.
The respective teams will be competing in the following leagues for the 2022 season:

JUNIOR HOCKEY
The junior section, ranging from U5 to U16, is regarded amongst the best junior hockey clubs within the Southern Gauteng region and is the largest at 315 members. We have several Southern Gauteng and district players in our junior group, and many of our Colts players (U14 – U16) also play in our senior leagues, including our senior performance squads.

OPTIONAL: Monday skills and fitness training
Southern Gauteng have confirmed that the Friday Night League (FNL) and Derby Days will start on 6 May, however, we are waiting for the match schedule from SGHA. Further details to follow shortly, including team selection.
SA MASTERS HOCKEY IPT 2022
This year the SA Masters Hockey IPT is proudly hosted by the WP Masters Hockey Association. We wish all Wanderers members participating in the tournament the best of luck!
