2019-20 Cricket Season

The new cricket season is up and running and we have our first performances for the Honours Board;

Cricket practices are as follow;

Senior Men’s
Wanderers Club Bottom Cricket Oval, from 16.30 Tuesdays and Thursdays.
All players over 14 years old are eligible to play in the senior teams.

Women’s
Wanderers Club Bottom Cricket Oval, from 16.30 Wednesdays.
The Wanderers Women’s cricket section has expanded this season to two teams, new players are welcome.

The Wanderers CC 1st XI Captainwanderers club Cricket News Update September 2019 4

The Wanderers Cricket Club is pleased to announce that Dan Poulton will be the 1st XI (Premier League) captain for the 2019-20 season.

Dan first played for the club in 2006 whilst at school and has worked his way up through the teams to become a consistent Premier League all-rounder.

He has also spent three seasons playing in Ireland and another in England.

2019 Wanderers Bash

wanderers club Cricket News Update September 2019 5The Wanderers Bash is a fund-raising cricket tournament held annually at the Wanderers Club and its popularity has grown steadily since the inaugural tournament in 2014.

Funds raised from the tournament are used to assist those unable to afford membership fees at the Wanderers.

The 2019 edition was won by the Masters XI, an invitation team from Johannesburg.

2019 Wanderers Ladies T10

The second edition of Wanderers Ladies T10 took place from the 20th to 23rd September. Twelve teams participated in the competition, with newcomers the Athena’s defeating last year’s winners, Irene Villagers, in the final.

Wanderers member Bianca Booyens was named as Player of the Tournament for her all-round performances.
