Wanderers Cricket Club AGM
The 2018 Wanderers Cricket Club Annual General Meeting took place on the 23 August.
Chairman of the cricket section, Frank Auger, welcomed members by reminding them that in theory, this was the 130th time that such a meeting had been held at the Wanderers and that the current players are the custodians of the club’s rich history and heritage.
The meeting confirmed the reappointment of the existing committee members for the year: Frank Auger (Chairman), Mike Sacher (Vice-Chairman), Graham McMillan (Secretary), Zaid Patel, Thabo Kalabatane and Dale Hermanson.
A warm welcome was extended to new committee member, Shannon Landman-Kriel from women’s cricket.
The meeting also saw the adoption of a new players’ code of conduct and the 2018-2013 strategic plan for the cricket section.
A New Cricket Season
The cricket season is fast approaching!
Practices have started – Tuesdays and Thursdays from 16.30 on the Wanderers Club Bottom Cricket Oval.

The Junior Cricket season commences on Saturday 1 September on the Bottom Cricket Oval from 8.15.

Events in September
The upcoming month will see two major cricket events taking place at the Wanderers Club;
6-9 September – 2018 Wanderers Cricket Bash
Come see 8 teams in their attempt to win the prestigious Wanderers Bash trophy. The final is scheduled to take place at 15.30 on Sunday 9 September on the Bottom Cricket Oval.
22-24 September – The Inaugural Wanderers Women’s T10 Tournament
Eat and sleep sixes at the first Wanderers Women’s T10.
Teams from across the country. Gin and beer tents. Braai facilities available.
