Welcome to the May 2022 edition of the newsletter.  Again, this has been rather a busy month.  The weather has done a decidedly an about-turn and we are certainly into Winter.  Being in the sun on the greens though is very pleasant.

Again we played plenty, ran multiple competitions, a number of corporate days and an open day. The open trips is taking too long but getting there.

JBA Seniors completer their last man standing event and have moved on to the more popular 2-4-2 competition.  All 4 greens are being used for this and it lasts till end July. The BSA Commonwealth Games squad practice will be back on 10 to 12 June for spectators to watch if they so desire.

The first inter sub-club competition was run – won by squash and they enjoyed a fantastic day – thanks to all those helping out on that open day and for the boerie roll braai.  I’m sure squash will be back again next month and slowly more sub clubs will join.

The Tuesday school is running well and we are all enjoying getting out there. A new school of TABS on Wednesday afternoons has begun with Killarney members joining in – one month at Wanderers and then the next at Killarney.  There are already 27 players – we had wonderful camaraderie and games.  The prego braai went down a treat.  The competition side was won by none other than our very own Ian Mandy.

Here are more pics from the open day

May you all play well and enjoy your bowls.
