Wanderers Badminton Juniors are growing in numbers and in-game skills. They are making a name for themselves as well as for The Wanderers Club Badminton section. All involved are trying their best to put our club on the map in producing great badminton players.
Training/practice sessions take place each Wednesday from 18h00 until 19h00. A limited number of additional places are available for youngsters to join. Levels from beginner can be accommodated. Details: Les Brazier on 083 626 3576.
We are proud to announce that last year, 5 Wanderers Juniors became provincial players in various age groups. All achieved good results in individual and team events (provincial and open tournaments).
Brother and sister Sam and Jess Howson who also took part in local open tournaments in Benoni, Alberton and Pretoria.
Sam and Jess Howson, plus Nicalen Dorasamy who reached the quarter and semi-finals in the 3 disciplines: – singles, men’s doubles and mixed doubles.
Brother and sister Nicalen and Kerisha Dorasamy. Kerisha has excelled in tournaments, reaching quarter and semi-finals – as well as finals.
Kerisha Dorasamy and Daniel Erlank were selected to play in the under 17 provincial tournament held in Alberton hall. Both held their own, which is quite an achievement as Kerisha is only 14 years of age.
Roger Howson is welcomed and thanked for his assistance with the more experienced players in this section.
