Helpers Run 2018 |
The WANDERERS AUCOR PROPERTY RUN which is part of the Vitality Series was a huge success! A big thank you to each and every single one of you that helped with marshalling, handing out entries and the overall organising of this event. The run would not be possible without all of YOU. The feedback we have received has been incredibly positive, so well done to all of those involved! Special mention must be made to Aucor Property for their sponsorship and hard work over the weekend.
We had 5708 people in total that completed the race. If you would like to see some pictures, please go have a look on either our Facebook page or Instagram. You might see yourselfJ. The next two races in the series are;
- 1st September – Adrienne Hersch (Randburg Harriers)
- 16th September – Rockies Gerald Fox Memorial
We will have the Wanderers Gazebo at both of these events- so please come and join us for a drink after your run!

WAC’S WONDERFUL WOMEN
As it was women’s month, we thought we would feature a little piece about Franci Myburgh, one of the many wonderful ladies running for WAC. Franci has been running for WAC as part of the Elite team. Despite suffering from injury in the beginning of the year, she is back in the game and can most often be seen blazing up the trails. We wish her luck as she conquers the mighty Karkloof 100 miles in September.
Race Results and Wall of Fame!
The Wanderers Athletics Club pays an annual tribute to the late Hadrian Clarkson with the presentation of a trophy which is awarded to the first male veteran runner in the half marathon. The 2018 winner was Simon Mpholo of Rocky Road Runners in a time of 1h 11min 35secs, Simon also won the award in 2017. This is the fifteenth year the award has been presented.
