The Wanderers Junior Soccer Club

Inspiring Those Who Aspire To Be

More than a club.
More than just soccer.

The Wanderers Junior Soccer club started 11 years ago for children aged 6 to 12. The Wanderers junior soccer club attracts young aspiring soccer players across all diversities. Our junior soccer coaches work hard in coaching and have achieved wonderful success in the leagues. The club runs a social responsibility programme focused on scouting young players who we coach and guide in their soccer journey. As part of this programme the soccer club transports these young athletes to and from practices feeds them and offers them ongoing encouragement in achieving their dreams.

League and Academy

Our coaches are employed full time and are thoroughly screened and provided with extensive training both in terms of SAFA qualifications and soft-skills training. The coaches are committed professionals remunerated for the training they provide to the junior members. We regularly take our teams overseas to enable our players to get exposed to the best young players and coaches in the world. Some of the teams we have competed against are Bayern Munich, Bayer Leverkusen and Porto amongst others. The Wanderers is at the forefront of the junior soccer leagues. We enter the SAFA Little and Junior Leagues. We nurture players seeking a future at USA college level or the professional ranks with the majority of our current U19 team playing regularly in DSTV Diski Challenge League and one even in the Bundesliga in Germany. We currently have 1 player playing highlevel College soccer and another accepted at an academy in Spain. We offer a full U.S. college placement service, from videoing games to contacting prospective colleges. We will be sending a team to a college showcase tournament in the US in 2023 which is the best way to find your perfect college. For those interested in a pro career and who have the talent, dedication and commitment, we offer opportunities and introductions to clubs both locally and overseas.

Junior Soccer section

The Junior Soccer section uses the grass oval as all league matches are required to be played on grass and according to specific field sizes and goals determined by SAFA.  The soccer matches are played from April to October.  The section’s growth prospects are unlimited as Soccer is undoubtedly South Africa’s biggest participation and spectator sport.
